  • Exceptional off-road capability for a luxury SUV
  • Beautifully crafted cabin

  • Second and third rows lack space and versatility
  • Tech interface is distracting and not intuitive
  • Poor fuel economy, even for a luxury SUV

  • Limited-production LX Inspiration Series
  • Updated appearance with Sport package
  • Amazon Alexa compatibility
  • Part of the third LX generation introduced for 2008

Based on the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Lexus LX 570 is engineered to go where few other SUVs can. At the same time, it provides a thick layer of luxury and refinement for when the adventure calls for pounding the pavement. As the flagship of the Lexus SUV lineup, the three-row LX 570 has an impeccably crafted interior and plenty of standard luxury features.

Technologically, the Lexus LX 570 falls well behind rivals. Its infotainment system competes mainly in terms of screen size, and the LX 570's safety technology is basic for this class. Where other luxury SUVs dazzle customers with digital instrumentation, massaging seats, and the latest in advanced driver safety aids, this Lexus falls behind. Amazon Alexa compatibility is new for 2021, but if you're seeking Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or a Wi-Fi hotspot, you'll need a different vehicle.

You can take the LX 570 well off the beaten path, and as is expected of a Lexus, it behaves as though every component has been coated in silicone. But on pavement, the truck-like LX 570 is less enjoyable to drive. Check out our full Expert Rating for all of the details.

We recommend getting Lexus LX 570 Three-Row, which matches most other flagship luxury SUVs in terms of passenger capacity. Additionally, the Three-Row provides access to packages and options that are not available on the Two-Row model.

Lexus sells the LX 570 in Two-Row, Three-Row and LX Inspiration Series levels of specification. Each is well equipped, and Lexus offers few options for this SUV. Highlights are as follows:

LX 570 Two-Row In addition to seating for five people, the LX 570 Two-Row includes:

  • 383-horsepower 5.7-liter V8 engine
  • Eight-speed automatic transmission
  • Full-time four-wheel-drive system
  • Adaptive suspension
  • Leather upholstery
  • Wood interior trim
  • Ambient interior lighting
  • Power-adjustable, heated front seats
  • Four-zone automatic climate control
  • Sunroof
  • Power rear liftgate
  • 12.3-inch infotainment display
  • Nine-speaker premium sound system
  • Navigation system

The LX 570 also comes with:

  • Adaptive cruise control (maintains a driver-set distance between the LX 570 and the car in front)
  • Forward collision mitigation (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)
  • Lane departure warning (alerts you if the vehicle begins to drift out of its lane)
  • Blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert (warns you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while reversing)
  • Surround-view camera system (gives you a top-down view of the LX 570 and its surroundings for tight parking situations)

LX 570 Three-Row Added passenger capacity is the Three-Row's sole benefit:

  • Power-folding third-row seat

A Luxury package is available for both the Two-Row and Three-Row versions. It comes with:

  • Premium leather upholstery
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Heated and ventilated rear seats
  • Heated steering wheel

A Sport package is exclusive to the Three-Row and adds on:

  • Front styling modifications
  • 21-inch wheels
  • Premium leather in more available colors
  • Black headliner

LX 570 Inspiration Series New for 2021, this version of the LX 570 is based on the Three-Row and comes with blacked-out exterior trim and wheels, black premium leather with red accents, and special floor and cargo mats.
