The 2021 Aston Martin DB11 is a textbook grand tourer. It's handsome, powerful and well appointed, but it doesn't sacrifice comfort for the sake of performance. It's plush yet sporty, and the back seat and reasonably sized trunk make it relatively practical too. It has exotic looks without being overdone and offers a pair of engines that will never fail to put a smile on your face. And if you prefer your sports cars with limitless headroom, the DB11 is available as a convertible.
When you consider the DB11's six-figure starting price, it really has few rivals on the road. The Bentley Continental and McLaren GT both have a similar feel and performance to the DB11, owing a lot to the trio's British heritage. If you prefer to command attention in a crowd, the Lamborghini Huracan is definitely more of a standout than the Aston Martin. And while we don't think the DB11 is quite as luxurious or well appointed as some of its rivals, the overall combination of comfort, performance and style make it worth a look.
Which DB11 does MatoCar recommend?
Of the various configurations available, we suggest going with one of the V8-powered DB11s. The smooth and powerful V12 is very appealing (especially when that exhaust note starts to sing), but the V8 is no slouch and is actually a bit better to drive since there's less weight over the front end.The 2021 Aston Martin DB11 is available as a coupe or a convertible (Volante). Both come with a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 (503 horsepower, 513 lb-ft of torque). The coupe-only DB11 AMR (short for Aston Martin Racing) comes with a turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 engine (630 hp, 516 lb-ft). All DB11s come with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.
